Apricot Cegledi orias

The tree has medium vigour, with upright, stiff branches and an inverted-cone, moderately dense crown. The scaffold crown is wide and flattened-globular; the shoots are reddish-brown and densely covered with lenticels. It starts bearing early and yields evenly and abundantly; its flower buds are resistant to late-winter and early-spring frosts. Pollinators: Ceglédi bíbor, Hungarian Best. Ripens in early to mid-July; the fruit is large or very large, 50–80 g, elongated, slightly flattened at the sides and egg-shaped. The skin is light orange, washed with bright carmine red on the sunny side, marbled and dotted with dark red. The flesh is orange, medium-firm, fibrous, juicy and melting, pleasantly sweet-sour, with a characteristic aroma. It softens quickly when ripe. Freestone, with a sweet kernel. It needs a sunny, warm, wind-sheltered spot and well-structured soil, with medium water needs. Winter dormant spraying should be done before bud break, in January–February (or early March), in dry weather. Autumn spraying should be done after leaf fall, in frost-free weather. Formative pruning is needed when young. Suitable for fresh consumption and for kitchen processing.
